In fall semester 2023, a Geography Film Club is being organized by junior researchers of the Department of Geography. The screenings are open to anyone interested in joining!
From the story of an African-American gardener’s landmark court battle against one of the world’s biggest agribusiness corporations to capitalism’s slow and steady erasure of indigenous food systems in highland India, from women resisting hydropower development in Central America to an elderly couple experiencing drought in the Bolivian Andes - we found these films relevant as they expand the range of voices we encounter in our understanding of environmental justice, particularly addressing contested issues around water and agriculture in different geographies of our globe.
Film screenings start at 18:30, followed by ápero and a discussion.
