Gathering at UNAM in Mexico City to take stock of Climate Finance Challenges in Mexico
For our research project ‘The Urbanisation of Global Climate Finance’ we are organizing a workshop focused on the challenges of climate finance in Mexico in Mexico City on the 20-21st of February 2025. We are bringing together a diverse group of participants, including professionals from fields such as the development sector, researchers from Mexican and Swiss universities, government officials, representatives of international cooperation agencies as well as climate activists.
We seek to foster an equitable and enriching dialogue on current challenges in the implementation of climate finance. Drawing on the knowledge and experience of all participants, we aim to explore key topics in a detailed discussion that will help participants and stakeholders from cities across Mexico to address these challenges more efficiently and effectively. Topics to be covered include legal and regulatory frameworks; resource and funding allocation issues; institutional and technical capacity challenges; best practices in sustainable development; the role of investors and the private sector; and cross-sectoral and multi-level collaboration.
