14th EARSeL Workshop on Imaging Spectroscopy
Last week, our group attended the 14th EARSeL Workshop on Imaging Spectroscopy in Helsinki, organized by EARSeL.
A particular highlight was the recognition of our colleague Loé Maire, who received the Second Prize in the Young Scientist Award for Best Oral Presentation. In her presentation she discussed the opportunities and challenges of retrieving phytoplankton taxa from in situ hyperspectral measurements and satellite observations.
Anh Minh Vu presented work on combining satellite-based imaging spectroscopy with physically based modelling to estimate suspended sediments and coloured dissolved organic matter in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam.
Lars Groeneveld shared ongoing research on a physically based shadow compensation approach in imaging spectroscopy, with the aim of improving the retrieval of environmental variables.
