Sample preparation (chemical)

A ⁹Be solution carrier is added to the dried quartz, which is then dissolved in 40% Hydrofluoric Acid (HF). Be is isolated using anion (Picture 4) and cation exchange columns (Pictures 5 & 6) followed by selective pH precipitation techniques.
