Student Administration Office
TheStudent Adminstration Office is responsible for applications to Bachelor's degree programs of applicants with Swiss qualifications and Swiss mobility students as well as other administrative matters such as change of degree and study program, leave of absence, withdrawal from the university, issuing the bills for the semester fees, and confirmations.
Student Asscociation
Geoteam is the student association for Geography and Earth System Sciences. It advocates for student interests and organises events. New members are always welcome!

Bachelor
A Bachelor's degree programme is equivalent to 180 credits. GIUZ offers two Bachelor's programmes.
Bachelor Thesis
The Bachelor’s thesis is usually written in the 6th semester as the final project required to obtain the Bachelor’s degree.

Recognition of previous achievements

Tutorials
As part of the tutoring scheme, students assist lecturers in their courses and receive credit points in return. Tutoring positions are advertised at the end of each semester for the following semester.

Units
GIUZ comprisesresearch units that are involved in teaching. These research units are assigned to different research clusters.
UZH App
The canteen menus, timetable, digital UZH Card, campus map and much more can all be found in the UZH app.
UZH Card
The UZH Card is used for discounts in the canteen, as a library card, and much more.
UZH Login
Once you have enrolled, you can download your personal password letter from the application portal using your UZH login. This letter contains your UZH shortname and your UZH email address (usually firstname.surname@uzh.ch). You will need this login to access most UZH platforms.
UZH Mail
You can set up youremail account using your UZH login details. Email is an important channel of the communication for matters related to UZH and GIUZ. Module coordinators, the Geoteam (student association) and the academic advisory service also send information via email. It is very important to check your inbox regularly.

To access the UZH network from outside of UZH, you must have the UZH Virtual Private Network (VPN) installed.
