The book explores some of the difficulties that such form of “hyper-critique” produces - in terms of theory, empirical analysis and political judgement. This book formulates a skeptical position – following in the footsteps of Hans Blumenberg and Odo Marquardt – that is not dogmatic or fundamental, but situative and interimistic: it disrupts the judgemental act, without discarding the possibility of a better future: Its skepticism is tempered by an eschatological proviso.
