On 22 January, Timothy Raeymaekers participated in a workshop at Basel University on the infrastructure space and the future of migration management, with a focus on the EU Hotspots in the Mediterranean border space.
The project, financed by the Swiss Network for International Studies, looks at the specific ways in which contemporary migration management transforms the Mediterranean border space as well as relations between states, citizens and non-citizens. Timothy shared his research insights on migrant labour and the Black Mediterranean with the project members whose research focuses on Greece, Italy, Turkey and Tunisia.
