For supervisors

The Graduate School supports supervisors in their roles. In particular, we provide advice about likely requirements for incoming PhD candidates, suggest members of circulation committees and monitor all milestones. 

In return we ask all supervisors to periodically attend the Graduate School retreat, participate in circulation committees, attend supervisory information events and keep up to date with changes in rules at the UZH, MNF and Graduate School. 

Attending Graduate School events is an important element of PhD candidates' educations and provides them with a peer group, which can offer support throughout the PhD. We therefore encourage supervisors to make sure that PhD candidates are enabled to attend Graduate School events appropriately, and to take these into account during the planning of field work and teaching.
