#86: The Skin of Chitwan

An online exhibition focuses on Chitwan as an archive of terrestrial change by fixing into images and sounds of the past. Ulrike Müller-Böker, Professor Emerita of Human Geography, contributed to this project of the Nepal Picture Library in Kathmandu.

Through research, archive building and storytelling, the project seeks to reimagine conversations around indigeneity, change in climate and ways of life, traditional knowledge systems, ideas of development, progress and sustainability, and indigenous ideas of futurity.

I am glad that several photos and other material of my research in Chitwan in the 1980ies were included in the exhibition and that I will contribute also in future with different documents to the fantastic work of this creative NGO.
