Dr. Janody Pougala Joins Urban Analytics as Postdoctoral Researcher

Janody joins UNA as a postdoctoral researcher, bringing expertise in travel behavior and activity-based modelling. At UNA, she will contribute to our research on urban mobilities and inequalities, strengthening our work on flexibility in activity scheduling, location choice, and travel decisions.

Janody’s expertise in travel behavior and activity-based modelling strengthens our work on better understanding flexibility in activity scheduling, location choice, and travel decisions. This is critical for studying mobility in the context of the net-zero transition and demographic change, as well as inequalities and differences in mobility across regions and population groups.

Janody holds a PhD from EPFL in Civil and Environmental Engineering, followed by a postdoctoral position at Northwestern University. Her PhD research focused on modelling daily activity and travel scheduling behavior,  while her postdoctoral research examined the behavioral and institutional factors driving freight transport decarbonization in the US.

At UNA, Janody will contribute to our research themes on urban mobilities and inequalities, as well as to the City Modelling Lab, our collaborative project with Arup and CASA UCL.
