Our group addresses one of the most pressing urban challenges: housing and its central role in shaping in shaping the built environment, social reproduction, and socio-spatial inequality. We examine how housing struggles, conflicts, and imaginaries shape everyday urban life, as well as how practices of inhabitation interact with regulations and policies to drive urban transformation. Grounded in critical urban theory, legal geography, and feminist perspectives, our research delves into phenomena such as precarious housing, urban displacement, and property neglect. By investigating these dynamics, we seek to understand housing as both a space of politics and a potential foundation for envisioning more just urban futures.
