CV

I am a PhD student in the Geographic Information Visualization and Analysis (GIVA) group at the GIScience Center of the Geography Department at the University of Zurich. Prior to my PhD, I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geography at Beijing Normal University in China. My PhD research focuses on investigating how pedestrians acquire spatial knowledge over time during mobile map-assisted navigation. Using real-world experiments tracking visual attention, brain activity, and map interactions, the study aims to uncover how navigators’ cognitive processes evolve with increasing environmental familiarity, ultimately informing the design of familiarity-adaptive navigation systems that support spatial learning.

My research interest lies in spatial cognition and navigation, and human-map interaction.
